Week 10 and 11 Homework
1. Diorama Construction
Choose a theme for your diorama - a different culture to Australia.
Construct a diorama in the box that you have been collecting (we talked about this in week one).
I have a few boxes if you cannot find one.
There will be some class time in week 10 to begin work on this. Any printing, painting of special coloured paper you need
we can help you with that.
Your diorama needs to show imagination and effort to make it look 3D.
Make a heading to go on top of your box (include your name and the culture chosen).
Be prepared to discuss in class how you made it.
2. Research how your chosen culture is different to ours. This needs to be written. It may be on paper, typed on a device or
prepared on a Google Doc to share with the class using the IWB (this is the best choice).
Share you Google Doc with me to save time when presenting it.
My Google address is - [email protected]
The sub-headings you should research are:
• language
• beliefs
• customs
• celebrations
• food
• dress
• housing
• quality of life issues - health services, education, etc
• plus anything else of interest
3. Prepare a short talk to go with your research. If you are showing a Google presentation then you might just talk us through each slide.
If you are doing your research on paper, then you will need to talk through the points with a bit more detail as we will have nothing
to look at.
4. We are keeping week 9 spelling words in week 10.
